Very close to the city centre there is the Prater an natural park that covers more than 5 square kilometers and was an imperial hunting ground until 1766.Today the Prater has lakes from old tributaries of the Danube meadows grand boulevards lined with chestnut trees and the fun park with its merry go rounds and rollercoasters.
