DESCRIPTION |
A 16th century traditional lakeland inn with some parts reputedly dating back to Roman times we offer log fires oak beams low ceilings flagged floors real ales and over 200 malt whiskies to keep you warm Our three double rooms are all en suite with colour TV and hospitality tray. We also have a self catering apartment which sleeps upto 5 people. Our prices include a full English breakfast and excellent value bar meals are served all day long. We also have two non smoking dining areas as well as the main bar. We welcome dogs both in the bar on a lead and to stay overnight please bring your own pet bedding a charge of 5.00 per night per dog should be added to the rate displayed. All rooms have views of beautiful open countryside

FROM THE SOUTHLeave the M6 motorway at Junction 36 taking the A590 to Greenodd continue on A595 to Whitehaven. At Duddon Bridge turn right at the traffic lights signposted Ulpha Seathwaite. Over the fell to Ulpha village past the village shop 200 metres and take a left signposted Eskdale up a steep hill to Birker Fell Eskdale beyond. Over the fell about 2 miles on we are on the junction for Hardknott Wrynose Pass.FROM THE NORTHLeave the M6 at Penrith A66 towards Whitehaven Barrow A595 . At Gosforth go through village looking for signs for Eskdale. Go through Santon village over the bridge up the hill and keep going through Eskdale Green we are on the junction at the other side of the village.BY RAILVirgin Trains West Coast Ravenglass Station.This is the home of the Ratty Railway a small gauge railway that runs into the Eskdale Valley. Get off at the Green station where you will see our sign. Go down the hill to the right about 200 yards. |
