16th century award winning coaching inn a 30 second walk from shropshires jewel ellesmere lake with plenty of wildlife and walks for you to enjoy. A 2 minute walk into the market town of ellesmere and the shropshire union canal. Meals available all day every day noon 8.30pm. A mixture of standard en suite and deluxe rooms available all rooms with tea coffee making facilties and tv video and free use of our video libary.residents may also enjoy free use of 4 mountain bikes to explore the local area.we added two more rooms in august 2005 these are are ground floor rooms with walk in showers and are for disabled people take a look at our updated website to view a vidio of the inn. ellesmere.info redlion

LOCATION |
Approaching Ellesmere from Shrewsbury south on the A528 pass the Mere and find us by the church. Also if coming from Whitchurch east you will join the A528 as above.From Oswestry west on the A495 follow the road through the town and head for the Mere. The Red Lion is next to St.Mary's Church.From Wrexham north you can follow the A528 right into Ellesmere. Turn left at the roundabout and continue towards the Mere.If you arrive by canal you will find moorings at or near the Wharf in the town. The Red Lion is an easy walk away via the town centre. The nearest rail station is at Gobowen with links to mainline stations at Shrewsbury and Chester. |
