In Victorian times many Himley villagers worked for the Earl of Dudley and their children were educated in the high beamed one room school house which is now a part of the Himley Country Hotel. The old school room has now been extended with a popular conservatory restaurant. Follow the A449 from either Wolverhampton or Stourbridge to the village of Himley. Turn left if coming from Stourbridge direction or right if coming from Wolverhampton direction into School Road at the traffic lights at the Dudley Arms. The hotel is on the right after 100 metres.From Dudley on the B4176 turn right at the traffic lights onto the A449 towards Wolverhampton. After 100 metres turn sharp left at the lights by the Dudley Arms and the hotel is on the right after 100 metres |
