DESCRIPTION |
Il Chiostro del Carmine has been meticulously restored from a XIV century Carmelite Monastry. It is situated a few hundred metres from the Siena Cathedral and from Piazza del Campo. The Monastry flourished even before Dante's time and stands in Via della Diana. There is an ancient Sienese tradition that the goddess of hunting in the greek roman mythology gave her name here to the font of a mythical impetous river that ran underground through Siena. Next to the monastery is the San Niccol Church dated back to the XIII Century with XV Century. Hanging here are important frescoes and paintings from Beccafumi and Manetti. The restoration has been specifically designed and carried out to the highest standards to meet the requirements of International high level University and Business Conferences. The excellent functionality of space and services is much remarked and appreciated.
