Pros: Haven't tried
any other p2p software but i'm new to this game and have found winmx easy to use. Cons: Recently been trying to download a file, search results find lots
of matches but each time i try it sits at waiting for reply for a while then turns red.
Doesn't look great but as it's the only one i've tried can't be
too critical....yet! |

Pros: NO spyware /
adware. I have used this program for a long time and it's always downloaded fast for me
and have always found what I wanted to download until lately... Cons: There are soo many fake files now which gets annoying and soon
people will stop using it. I don't know why people would want to wreak a good free
software like this, would these people rather have a software like kazaa full of spyware
wreaking your computer? |

Pros: Wonderful
application and nearly bug free. No SpyWare, unlike Morpheus and other wannabe programs.
Where else can you find material from William S. Burroughs to Johnny Cash? Downloads are
fairly quick if you have a broadband conncetion. Cons:
You really should have a broadband connection to get the most from any file sharing
application, including WinMX. You should also know what youýre doing when it comes to
setting up to share files. Most of the negative posts on this application are due to the
fact that some individuals simply do not have a clue as to what they are doing and run
into issues. This is a VERY easy program to use as long as you take the time to learn how
to use it. You should also be running a firewall and anti-virus software when using this
application. You will download viruses and infect you PC if your not paying attention! |

Pros: WinMx uses a
algotherm, based upon the size and number of files you share and how many people can
download from you, etc. Simply put if you don't share you don't get priority on bandwidth
or download. People who share alot, can and will get alot. People who don't like to share
won't like winmx and will generally ***** that the program sucks. Winmx reminds me alot of
Napster way back when... Cons: None. . If you have
problems connecting it usually because of your firewall or router. check proxy settings. |

This is SIMPLE and Easy to
use despite some of the reviews. The only problems I've encountered are: leeches (people
with 0 files to share); those unwilling to share their files (even though that's the
purpose of this program); & "BotUsers" (fairly new problem- a user that has
many duplicate files that are fake). Aside from that it was about a year ago when I took 5
minutes to get accquainted with this program and it's the only p2p I've used ever since. I
love it. I've been able to find all kinds of rare files. I didn't find the interface
confusing - I just found it kinda unattractive. AND there is absolutley no spyware! I
definitely recommend WinMX. |

Look, for all you people out
there that like to use kazaa, STOP USING IT YOU FOOLS. If you are using Limewire, good on
you it is a great program, but if you have trouble finding those hard to get files than
this is the program for you. Win MX optimises all the things a great P2P should have and
covers a very wide spectrum of networks. I've been supporting this program ever since it
came out and I have watched it go from strength to strength, it is by far the best.
I recommend this program to any person that is computer literate. Try not to pay any
attention to the people who diss this program as they are probably not use to the more
advanced interface. Also if you would like the BETA Versio of WinMX go to there website. |

Hands down, the best p2p
program out there. I'm a 14 year old kid and I find WinMX an easy to use and absolutely no
bugs or spyware. Ive tried them all, Imesh- insane spyware, glitches and viruses, Kazaa -
absolute junk with virus's,spyware etc. and bugged songs with errors, LimeWire- Crowded
interface with bad quality songs, spyware/adware, and a real bad player program. Trust me
I'm a download junkie and ive had em all. Im 14 and I cant get enough of how safe, easy
and simple WinMX can be. Also get MX-Monitor for perfect downloads. |

Do you want to install
Webrelates, Search180 toolbar, Bullseye Networking and a bundle of other malicious
assortments? Get this if you want spyware. I spent 3 hours cleaning my system as a result
of this WinMX installation. Stick to the previous version because it works exactly the
same minus the spyware. My later discoveries were a folder called Temp - located in my
root directory - which was filled with allsorts of installations WinMX put on my machine,
and to better that, the System32 folder was crawling with programs that had dollar signs
as icons, and filenames like "logon.exe" and "server.exe". As if I'm
going to fall for that one! |

First, I'd like to say that
this program DID NOT work with my ISP, so beware those using cable networks! However, I
used another connection in the form of my friends computer to have a look at this program.
It has a decent variety of content to download, which is a plus. It does its job...but
thats about it. Even with his connection (extremely high speed) the program took roughly 5
minutes to establish a connection to a network. The download times weren't too bad, they
were slightly lower than par compared to Kazaa and Morpheous, and quite low as compared to
LimeWire. Win MX does have a good interface to it...however, thats not what this program
is ment for. It lacks in what the whole point of a P2P progam is supposed to do, and
therefore I cannot recommend this download for a first option. However, if you absolutly
cannot get other programs to work and don't want to go to programs supported by adware,
then this would be a decent alternative. |
